Beret Projects

How about that! 9 berets in 8 days :) Actually, it was 10 1/2. I still have a red one to finish and the other brown I made is not included in this bunch. I'm so happy to have created so many of these in such short time. They're for some office mates who liked the first one I made that they asked me to make some for them.

The one in the upper left corner is a work in progress. Notice the knitting needles?
Yeah, I'm currently trying to remember what I learned about the basics of knitting >.<

I want to paint in watercolour again. Its been so long since the last time.  >.<

I still have a few to make before I move on to trying a new tutorial. :) My next goal is to learn how to read patterns. I've downloaded a few online but have no idea how to read them. >.<

Crafting: Patched / Pyramid Beret Complete

I kinda thought it was gonna take a while for me to get how to create these. But I think the practice I had with single crochet stitch finally paid off. My very first complete Beret project. Yay! :)

Lost my patience for a moment but I'm glad I got it back.
Looking at my finished product, the patience was all worth it :)

I was scouring YouTube for some tutorials when I stumbled upon this instructional and easy to understand video. I owe it to her (the person who made the tutorial) my success. Thank you very much for sharing your skills. You have helped me a lot.  :)  I'm off to buy more yarns to create more of these. >.<

Crafting: New scarf project and knitting

I have been working on a new scarf with single crochet stitch lately. I am trying to perfect some of my mistakes from the red one and widen it a little because my friends thought that the previous one is too thin that it looked more like a table runner than a scarf. Lol! :)

Now I am very sure I got the stitches right this time

Knitting has been a real challenge for me but I've learned the basics.  I have learned how to do the basic cast  on and knit stitch through online tutorials.  Knitting is a little complicated but I'm glad to have learned something new. I'm actually bouncing back and forth to knitting and crocheting whenever I have the time and so far its been great.  I also have another crochet project that I've been working on besides the scarf that I hope to finish soon  and post it here on my blog. :)

Now these certainly look like noodles to me. Haha :)
I couldn't control how tight I should make the stitches. As you can see on the photo above,
there are some loose stitches and my next goal is learn how to not do that.

Shoe Love is True Love

New shoes I got for my birthday XD
Copyright © October 2013

If you have read my post about my birthday wishlist then you've seen these.  They're not the exact ones from my list because I couldn't find them but that's ok, I'm still loaded with happiness with the ones I found.  I got the brown lace up boots at a thrift store for a really really low price.  My friends and I were looking for some brogues when I found these boots and they're my size. It felt like it was meant to be. :) I got the black one at Forever21 and the brogues at Ledonne.

I love pairing this brogues with a dress

I am starting to like wearing these type of shoes from now on.
I used to wear sneakers and flats all the time and I must say that these are more comfortable. :)

Da Vinci's Workshop

I have always admired Leonardo Da Vinci's work since I was little. Maybe its because I'm a geek. Lol! But seriously, he's inventions, ideas, paintings are all fascinating to me.  :) So when I heard that an exhibit about his inventions and paintings is here in Manila, I just couldn't miss it.

My sweetness and I wanted to visit the exhibit on a weekend but I think it was wise that we didn't because there are a lot of people in malls every Saturdays and Sundays and the exhibit is being held inside one so we decided to visit a thursday. We were the only ones there and it kind of felt like a private viewing. XD  We were toured by one of the exhibit's guides (I forgot his name T.T), and he was very accommodating and friendly.

I've read books about Leonardo and what I admire most about him is the fact that even though he's an illegitimate child (which are deprived of formal education back in the renaissance time), it didn't stop him to become one of the greatest man this world has ever known. His constant curiosity with everything pushed him to invent machines and equipment that proved to be very useful up to this day.

Da Vinci's obsession with flying led him to invent a lot of flying machines. He even had an
idea of the parachute but like many of his ideas it was never built and tested by Da Vinci himself.

The tour was educational and I do recommend it especially to kids.  Most of the prototypes are movable which would make you understand more how Da Vinic's inventions work.  The exhibit is located at 2nd level exhibit hall southside entertainment mall, SM Mall of Asia. They're open until January 2014. Visit Da Vinci's Workshop PH for more information.

Its October and its my Birthday!

Today is my 25th Birthday. Woke up early to meet up with my sweetness. Started the day with a birthday prayer and some breakfast then we went to Mall of Asia to visit the Da Vinci's Workshop which my sweetness and I enjoyed very much. It was nice to view the exhibit with only a few people. It almost felt as if the exhibit was open exclusively for us. Hehe :) The rest of the day went by slowly.  I don't feel the birthday aura that I used to feel when I was younger.  Maybe the age (being in the mid 20's) is starting to get to me but I know that its too soon to be bothered by those trivial stuff so I'm brushing it off.

So I just enjoyed the exhibit, enjoyed the food (loved the blueberry cheesecake of Sbarro by the way), took in the scenery and ended the day with a smile :)

One Happy Birthday Girl :)
