In continuing my series of posts about my tour in Bohol last month, our second day started with a visit to Dauis Church then to Bohol Bee Farm in Panglao Island.  Bohol Bee Farm is a resort but they also offer a tour of their farm (they grow their own vegetables and greens that they use in their restaurant).  The tour was very educational, starting off with the ingredients of their famous flower salad. Yes, you read right. They serve salad that has flowers on it and these flowers are Gumamela, Bougainvillea, Marigold, and Cosmos. I think. Hehe =) Well, those were the flowers that our kind tour guide mentioned that they grow organically on their own farm.  We didn't get to try the salad though. They also have greens such as oregano, basil, rosemary, mint, and the list goes on.

They also have crafts and livelihood area where they create handicrafts such as bags, slippers, etc. that are being sold in their shop. Most of their walls are created with coconut shells which is ingenious if you ask me.  The shells are not noticeable at first but when you take a closer look you'll be able to see it.  They also have a shop where they sell their produce (Jams, Spreads, Cassava Cone, Ice Cream, Bread, etc. )  My friend B and I tried their ice cream flavors Pandan and Malunggay.  I'm not a huge fan of malunggay but the ice cream tasted great. :)  I also bought 6 pieces of their bread which I enjoyed eating when we went back to the resort where we're staying. ^_^

Where they grow their lettuce. Panglao Island's soil is mostly limestone rocks
that's why they grow their lettuce in little pots like these.

The view of the beach is just stunning. The island on the right side is actually Siquijor, our tour guide mentioned.  I hope I'd be able to dine at this place the next time I visit Bohol. yiii =)
